Unfortunately PDF is not a format that lends itself to an easy conversion to other formats. The results of such a conversion depends highly on the quality of the original PDF file. You can create a file that is impossible to convert, but still looks good when viewed in a PDF viewer, so when I say quality, it's not what you see on screen, it's what's in the PDF file. I assume that in your case, the PDF file does not have all the information the converter needs to create a 'good' Word file. Unfortunately with just Reader, you cannot improve the output. With Adobe Acrobat, you could export the contents of your PDF file as e.g. TIFF images, and then convert these images to PDF.
